Let`s have a look from high above

Let`s have a look from high above

I`ve got some traveling habits which help me to get the brightest impressions of my trips. One of them is to observe places of interest from high above. When I plan a rout for my trip to any city I usually look for some observation points. Here are the descriptions of ones which impressed me a lot this summer.

1.       Vienna has several observation points. Usually tourists enjoy the view from the Danube Tower or the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel.  My advice is to visit the Kahlenberg. It is a hill not far from the center of the city. It is also a perfect place to have a walk, have dinner and try local wine. In the picture you can see grapes growing on the hill. And I was lucky to get to the Kahlenberg in the evening. It gave me the opportunity to see beautiful night lights of Vienna. You can see one of the pictures which I made at that time.

2.       There is a point in Barcelona which can be seen from every part of the city and even from neighboring towns. It is Tibidabo Mountain. And vice versa: every part of the city can be observed from Tibidabo. As you can see in my picture, central part of Barcelona has special structure. The streets are very straight and paralleled. When I saw such a picture for the first time in the Internet I thought it had been photoshopped. But then I went to Tibidabo and saw it my own eyes.

3.       Alesund is the most picturesque town I`ve ever visited. It is situated on the north-west of Norway at a fjord shore. There is a mountain Aksla in the center of the town. It has a perfect viewpoint on the top. As you can see in the picture, the town is surrounded by the severe sea and gorgeous mountains. Alesund was built in the Art Nouveau style that makes it very cozy and bright.

4.       And the last story is about Minsk, the city I live in. My favorite observation point in Minsk is The View restaurant at 7a, Pobediteley av. The restaurant is situated on the 28th floor and the building stands in the city center. So the most attractive parts of Minsk can be seen from the restaurant windows and terrace. One of them is Trajeckaje Pradmiescie, as you can see in the picture.

So, Kahlenberg, Tibidabo and Aksla are the perfect observation points to visit and enjoy. And even in Minsk we can find a place to see the city from high above.
